PROPOSED TAX RATES NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE FOR TRAVIS COUNTY PROPERTY OWNERS
Taxpayers can review the potential impact on their tax bills at TravisTaxes.com
AUSTIN, Texas – Travis County property owners can now review proposed tax rates and the impact they could have on their property tax bill online at TravisTaxes.com.
According to Travis Central Appraisal District Chief Appraiser Marya Crigler, “Most property owners know that their property’s market value is part of the equation to determine their property tax bill. TravisTaxes.com makes it easy to see how big of a role tax rates play in that calculation.”
The website allows a property owner to type in their address and review the proposed tax rates for all of the taxing entities that pertain to their property. The website also breaks down how much of their tax bill goes to each taxing entity, shows the impact that proposed rates will have on an owner’s property tax bill, lists upcoming hearings that owners can attend, and provides a convenient option where taxpayers can send feedback to their local taxing entities.
Travis County property owners can expect to receive a postcard regarding the website in the mail in the coming days.
“The Texas Constitution guarantees taxpayers the right to view an estimate of their tax bill before tax rates are adopted,” added Crigler. “Our hope is TravisTaxes.com gives them the information they need to stay informed.”
